Farnborough town centre is currently undergoing a multi-million pound redevelopment, which will incorporate a brand new shopping experience and a multi cinema complex to compliment the current selection of entertainment venues, health clubs, bars, cafes and restaurants already on offer in and around the town.
Enjoy the local culinary experiences that cater for everyone, from fine dining at the new Aviator Hotel to the traditional Sunday roast at one of the many country pubs nearby. At the weekend why not visit the nearby local market town of Farnham, where you can browse the chic boutiques or simply enjoy a coffee in one of the many cafes.
Farnborough has a great range of schools including ten primary schools and four state secondary schools. Farnborough Hill School saw record results in GCSE grades in 2009. Tertiary education in Farnborough is excellent and home to Farnborough Sixth Form College, considered one of the best sixth form colleges in the country.
Queensgate is ideally situated for those seeking leisure activities. Enjoy a scenic stroll along the Basingstoke canal or hire a boat for a relaxing trip down river. Take time to visit Fleet Pond nature reserve, or head to the nearby ranges and Caesars Camp for great places to run, cycle or simply take in the surrounding countryside. For the children, King George V playing fields offer a beautiful park for all the family to enjoy. Alternatively play a round at Southwood Golf Club or join one of the local health clubs where you can enjoy a workout or a swim.
Getting Around
With rail, road and cycle networks all easily accessible, Queensgate is set in an ideal location. Whether heading into the City or exploring the surrounding areas there is plenty of choice for all types of travel, wherever your destination may be.
Farnborough Mainline Station is 1.2 miles away and will take you to London Waterloo in under 40 minutes. Nearby is North Camp and Farnborough North Train Stations which serve to Gatwick International Airport via Guildford. You can also head south on the mainline and reach Bournemouth via Basingstoke in under two hours.
Farnborough's road networks provide Queensgate with easy access to the M3 via Junctions 4 and 4a via the A331 Blackwater Valley Relief Road. Winding country roads, as well as A and B roads lead to adjacent towns such as Farnham, Fleet and Camberley, whereas the M3 can be taken South to link to the M27 to Portsmouth and the South Coast.
Whether cycling into town or merely enjoying the beautiful scenery surrounding Queensgate, Farnborough's cycle routes provide cyclists of all ages easy routes in and around the town. If you're looking for something more challenging you can head to the numerous country parks that offer hundreds of acres of beautiful English countryside.
